Just thought I would post a website with info on a treatment that I tried a while back with success until I had to stop due to extreme insomnia.

I really feel this can help some of us and with no lasting harmful side effects. Im thinking of giving it another go, though lack of sleep is very difficult for me. I have found that even smaller amounts of salt were beneficial though not a cure. Although the website is geared towards lyme it goes into detail of other bacteria and parasites killed by high salt therapy.

http://lymephotos.com/

"Due to the overuse of antibiotics, bacteria have mutated. These bacilli were from a polyp in the small intestine of the lyme patient. The macroscopic (visible to the naked eye) size was quite a surprise. After about two months of treatment the colony of bacteria just seemed to let go and the specimens were found floating in the toilet. These were the first to be put under the microscope and the adventure began. From bacteria to nematomorphs, we were consumed with the discoveries. Creatures were dying. So desperate to leave the body, they literally came out of the skin, ears, eyes, from under the tongue, and in the urine and stool."
This website offers lots of info with photos and the complete protocol which is basically:

  1. Body weight in pounds/10 = total daily consumption in grams, so
    • 1 gram of Salt, and
    • 1 gram of Vitamin C
    • for each 10 pounds of body weight.
Use pure salt (sodium chloride) without any additives such as
    • aluminum
    • silica, or
    • iodine
  2. If you use powdered salt or Vitamin C be aware that
    • 1 teaspoon (tsp) = 5 grams, thus
    • 1 tablespoon (tbs) = 15 grams.
  3. One should space out these into three or more doses each day.For example, a 150 pound individual would swallow 15 gramsof each in total as
    • 5 grams of each in the morning,
    • 5 grams of each at midday and
    • 5 grams of each in the evening.
  4. Total daily consumption should not exceed 18 grams of each per day.
  5. Drink lots of water.
  6. High doses can be very hard on the stomach.Experiment; start with lower doses, such as3 grams each 5 times a dayto get your daily total.Again, drink plenty of water.

no problem with the font -  I knew someone who did this and no luck with the protozoa but was able to gobs of worms out (eek)  -  salt is a powerful antibiotic, you have to be careful about using high amounts with considering it will draw down the potassium stores -  and probably magnesium as well.   Sodium is constricting and will cause blood pressure issues in some - potassium/magnesium should offset this.

Lineup , I have consistently low levels of potassium and magnesium, I have to supplement a lot daily to enable me to sleep and even them my sleep is very broken .
Even small amounts of salt (natural or not) throw  me off in these two minerals.  Do you know if this is an issue stemming from adrenal fatigue or if its the nature of the infection? When I do take in more salt than regular I feel really energized and "normal" but I have to choose between "normal" and sleep. =(

In any case, I have found himilayan salt to be the least likely to cause me problems.

How long did this person do the salt protocol? From this particular website they said some cases required up to two years, and that parasites started to appear (come out) after two months. Also curious if this person saw any benefits from releasing "gobs" of parasites?

thanks

Just thought I would report, I have being taken the salt/C protocol starting with 1/2 teaspoon salt with 2000mg of Vit C. I am too having sleep problems, first night got to sleep  okay but woke up about 2-3 am and couldn't really sleep much after that.Next night much the same. Its seems that on this protocol you need to supp potassium to balance the sodium and apparently it causes your body to dump a lot of calcium which can lead to kidney stones. Mag is hijacked for biofilms, Kilinghardt recommends staying away from MAG steratate which was the type I was taking so have stop and will look for citrate. My main problem is BRAIN FOG right now, after eating in the morning I feel like shit. Its hard to work and concentrate, I'm not sure if its related to leaky gut or whether the pathogens have adapted and are feeding and realising toxins causing the fog. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The only the thing that helps thus far is Ozonated water, clears my head. I am also researching about hyper coagulation, which is where these little pathogens cause an increase in fibrin in our blood, causing it to thicken and subsequently creating a more anaerobic environment for them selves. I will create a new catergory for this and post some suggested supps for helping hopefully tonight, hope this may help some.

Yes, the electrolytes get eaten up by the infection, most likely from the adrenals pumping so hard to handle the infection.  Mineralcorticoids from the adrenals control sodium/potassium balance and magnesium is lost under adrenal stress, so it is necessary to keep your electrolyte levels high.   Low potassium/sodium affect many processes of the body including neurological health, you can get depression, anxiety, lots of fear/paranoia -  so yes the adrenal fatigue and the infection are one in the same.  I posted something about defensins which are antimicrobial peptides which are part of the immune response.   Defensins are like bombs that are supposed to pass through the cell membrane of the pathogen then damage the pathogen by disrupting one of its chemical process.

The body upregulates the metabolism by stimulating the adrenal response to help manufacture these immune factors.   The pathogens know how to defeat the responses so the body has to continue to manufacture these substances to keep the infection from getting stronger holds.  When our bodies upregulate the metabolic rate then nutrients are burned up pretty fast, so it is vital to keep nutrients at high levels.  Have you done any hair analysis reports or other nutrient studies?  Did you have your Vitamin D3 levels checked, this has helped me a great deal.

He used straight organic salt, I like the Himalayan form since it contains other minerals which are vital for health.   He had toxocara and these eliminated within 1 week if I remember right.  Yes, he felt better.   If you think you have worms then I got them out by using neem, myrrh, boswellia and oil of oregano (enteric coated) -  got roundworm out within 1-2 weeks.   By the way, Nitazoxanide is a great anti protozoa agent but also has worm/fluke killing properties as well.

Homer:  Good suggestion -  I can create a new category for this and you can post everything there, or if you want to start a new thread.   DMSO helped me a fair amount and I use MSM as well.

Homer, I dont know which potassium supplement you are taking now but I have found that "Nu-salt"  brand of salt substitute provides much more potassium ( 530 milligrams of potassium chloride per 1/6 tsp) than you can get via supplements (which I believe are limited by law to contain no more than 100mg per tablet or capsule) and and at a much better price...I get a container of Nu-salt for around $2.00 at my grocery store.

I dissolve a teaspoon in water and keep it bedside. I take sips/gulps throughout the night as needed. I can tell when I need potassium in two ways..my saliva tastes salty,  my facial skin gets tight, thin, and shiny. When Im low on magnesium I get "sleep starts" and pounding heartbeat. (dont know if my symptoms would match yours but they have matched others I've compared notes with ).

I dont know how important the vit C is to the protocol but discovered a lot of sleeplessness was caused by the high dose of Vit C.  Even without the vit C I still had die off but with  much less wakefullness during the night.

My calcium is constantly low too.

My three main mineral deficiencies are magnesium, calcium and potassium. Any time a protocol interferes with these I get insomnia and eventually have to stop. Magnesium and calcium act in a seesaw manner--too much of one and I get symptoms of being deficient in the other. Have discovered that boron can help with this problem and also seem to be antibacterial in its actions (relieves some of my bloating).

I hope you feel better soon, though per the website...you should feel bad for a while. =(
Blessings and strength to you!

Thanks for the info, I kinda figured they were intertwined. Im sure I've messed up the balance more by taking supplements though. I used to get very pronounced low blood pressure from a fourth of a teaspoon of my nu-salt supplement..now I can take as much as I want and get no symptoms at all/not sleep as deep. Used to help knock me out like a drug by lowering my blood pressure ...  But then again this was also when I was eating a lot of fruit and not taking in much salt. (more muddling)

I did hair analysis a while back -same deficiencies I discovered on my own. Vit D was low five years ago but normal since taking it daily 4000mgs. Have found it helps my body hold onto magnesium.

Can you give doses for your neem/herb parasite protocol? Can you say what symptoms were cleared?

Homer,
two things Ive found to help brain fog is

SALT!
and
water enema.

sorry.
Im sure you've tried more water. How about digestive enzymes or serrapeptase and or natokinase?

Hi iloveisabelle,

Thanks for replying, some good suggestions. I have for some time being thinking about adding in enema's, water followed by coffee to see if it helps my general feeling of health. They seemed to be recommended by most Dr. 's treating chronic infections. Also after reading some info last night I might explore trying activated charcoal. I'm starting to  think I may be getting very toxic, I still seem to get that shitty weak,  hypoglycemic feeling a lot. Also feel like sleeping a lot lately. Can anyone help me with minerals, I kind da think its an area I haven't addressed much and I get confused about being deficient in this or that and would rather just take a broad range supplement. One I remember as being good was Dr. Schultz rock minerals or something similar, has anyone tried this or have any other recommendations?

Cheers

Homer,
I cant recommend enemas more highly, I was able to stop a pancreatic attack in less than five minutes with an enema (no pain worse than a pancreatic attack!). dont ask me how it works though. Its simple and with no side effects.

Coffee enemas give me energy but with the added effect of a hypoglycemic attack later in the day. Just me personally, though my adrenals are weak.

Maybe you could try high doses of serrapeptase for energy?
I've found "redmonds real salt" to be an energy booster.

For mineral balancing I've gleaned much from accucell.com. which was recommended to me by someone who was able balance her minerals using the info on the site.

Using the website I made a chart of what minerals inhibited what minerals and then when I took a mineral I would note what symptoms were worse or better. Through this method I eventually figured out what minerals I was deficient in and was able to reverse several health problems I was encountering. The website has been a godsend for me, without it I was just spinning my wheels with different supplements. I have a degree in nutrition and we weren't taught much about mineral synergies or antagonists which are most important when you are low in one mineral or another.

Making a chart helped the most along with careful attention to my symptoms after taking a particular mineral.

I would also recommend a book called "Nutritional Balancing and Hair mineral Analysis"  by Laurence Wilson. .Great resource.

Be aware that charcoal can absorb/block mineral absorption when taken too close to meals.

Hope this helps.

Feel better soon!

yes lightfoot thats correct, I used that site to determine my electrolyte balance. The lists have been able to help me identify minerals that I needed, proved very accurate for me (and many others I have bumped into online). Takes a bit of experimenting though.

20 months plus on 22+ grams

HELLO _  Skateman01   A recent partial convert to the salt - C protocol after 18+ months on average 22+ grams net of C in a 3:2 lecithin-AA mix (DIY LIPO C) , I must say that I am impressed with the apparent shift in symptoms. After losing my voice and watching back of throat possibly strepta rashes on the back of my throat durring the first few weeks of 20 -60max grams C per day,  I have been on a 20 month journey of cleansing.  The boosted immune system has been ever shifting with repeated sojurns into my one bad tooth through to ear infection zone on the right side, a few weeks of a painful left leg bone (my first expereince with pai from a bone  ?) ,  near constant baggy eyes from inflamation of the skull / CSF,, lymph boils on my neck, etc. It was well into ten months before the CSF zone seemed to be targetted, and after 20 months this process continues.  What started as a NO LONGER SUFFERABLE CONDITION with insomina, psoriasis 3mm thick crust on head fro some sort of yeast flairup after 3 hour training runs/bikes and doses of sugar,  abd a percieved contamination of some sort of parasite picked up swimming in Lac Leman, as well as percieved exaustion and burn out after getting a slew of shots for Africa travel and work, my first experience with C was 2x  20 gram IVs froma local qualified practitioner.  This gave me an understanding of Herxheimer kill off. Then after a visit in deseration to the local dermo clinic and a discussion with the chief Dermo, suggested purchases of IMMUNO SUPPRESSENT CREAM etc. it CLICKED:  All my friggin life I^ve been supressing stuff on the surface.  A biofilm specialists remark that bacteria doesn't care where it is and forms biofilms on rocks in mountain streams. on your teeth, in your veins and arteries, and in your joints, made me realise that perhaps my eczema and food allergy responses were like herxheimer reactions.  Instead of smothering myself with coconut oil/oregano oil (extremely effective topical ceanser that STOPPED any eczema and yeast/fungi itches),  I go oral and subliminal (under tongue) mostly with DIY LIPO C to the max, and occasional germicide with oregano oil and, eventually, borax drinks and turpentine (orally and scalp, hands, ankles, knee topical linement). The recent addition of the high sea salt/ C  mix has increased the perception of surface activety of percieved individual whatevers.  The common theme that becomes louder and louder with time, is that: as the general circulatory system clears, the remaining bastions of itchiness come from biofilm joint areas. The travel of the cleansing and ever changing systems has been like rewinding 53 years of accumulated stuff.   Every scar has been visited at least once, even my TB shoulder pin cushion site (tuberculoses shot recieved at age 10 or so) swelled up for a few days as the immune syste did its stuff.  Memories keep coming back with the symptom shifts:  being 25 and rowing alone on the CHarles river in Boston,  wondering why I alwys close the right eye when the sun is to bright. As the shifting symptoms of the cleansig of the cranium continue, I have recently days of blurry vision on the right side,  an assortment of headaches with pain localized left hem, right hem back of right hem top, etc ...  One Sunday a few weeks back I was suffering with total headache,  took a big dose of lipo C, and then: a valve unclogged or something and the right side became clear as ever.   As research improves on parasitic biofilms in the body, the involvement of viral infiltration of the CSF etc, ( virral involveent with parkinsons, eyesight issues) the Magic of High Dose C will bloom. I believe eczema is biofilms in the joints and cranium.  eye lids and brows, top of nose bridge (3rd eye), back of neck, back of ears, etc -  and my adolescent dandriff all from bio parasite culture in my fruit salad. I'm into commodity chem meds now : ascorbic acid, turpentine, borax, lecethin, amygdalin and nictinamide (vit B3). KEPP ON KEEP'IN ON HELLO _  Skateman01   A recent partial convert to the salt - C protocol after 18+ months on average 22+ grams net of C in a 3:2 lecithin-AA mix (DIY LIPO C) , I must say that I am impressed with the apparent shift in symptoms. Any news?

Hello Iloveisabelle,

I have come across your post where you talk about balancing your cations after doing your VitmaninC/Salt protocol. I found it very interesting as I have the same problems.

Do you have any new findings, or knowledge on this topic?

I currently have a Calcium deficiency and as it seems it may also be induced by Vitamin C alone. According to this website you recommended (http://acu-cell.com/) it may be possible.... Yesterday, after pausing the protocol for 10 days because of the Calcium deficiency (verified by blood test) I got an injection of Vitamin C and the following night I had problems falling asleep and woke up at 5 am. I only had 4 hours of sleep and my heart was pounding intensely. .. not fast. I had the same when I stopped the protocol.

Also, I think coffee may not be favorable... at least when taken orally. :) I know there has been a study that states that it does not contribute to Ca deficiency, but from my experience it may be problematic. And I usually get joint pains from it, which can be relieved by taking tablettes increasing the body pH.

It would be really nice to get an update on your development. This protocol has served me a lot and I hope I can continue it...

Or does anybody else have some suggestions/experiences they'd like to share? ..I hope my post not to confused

Thanks!

Foggy: I cannot think of any relationship between calcium and vitamin c which does not mean it is not a problem with you. Have they checked your thyroid and parathyroid functions. Parathyroid controls calcium absorption and excretion. The AccuCell test is decent but last time I checked it was expensive. I am a big proponent of Trace Elements hair testing. Cheaper and covers more ground last time I checked.

Have you had your Vitamin D levels checked? Vitamin D is critical for calcium and parathyroid health. Also what about magnesium? Magnesium and calcium are both antagonistic and agonistic meaning that they can both push and pull with each other. For instance if magnesium is low, calcium may not retain or if magnesium is too high then calcium becomes suppressed.

Thanks for your post Lineup. Noticed that I do not get any information if someone replies.

On the website it says that:

"Calcium metabolism is much affected by Vitamin C intake.  Patients who suffer from calcium overload
benefit from supplementing larger daily amounts of Vitamin C because they prevent calcium from calcifying
soft tissue.  Low stomach acid levels are also a common side effect of elevated calcium, for which a higher
Vitamin C intake is beneficial as well.
While the right amount of ascorbic acid increases bioavailability of calcium, very high intake of Vitamin C,
if not needed, will eventually put extra demands on calcium stores (bone) and result in calcium deficiency,
which can lead to osteopenia, or eventually osteoporosis.

While excessive intake of Vitamin C is reflected in deficient cellular levels of calcium, serum calcium levels
remain unaffected as they are not suitable to measure dietary calcium requirements, so a Vitamin C overdose
is rarely suspect of being the potential cause of numerous calcium deficiency-related side effects such as leg
cramps (left-sided only, unless magnesium is also low), light, restless sleep or insomnia, anxieties, increased
daytime fatigue, joint pains (more so left-sided), brittle nails with vertical ridges due to low calcium ratios, or
increasingly horizontal, groove-like ridges as a result of prolonged, severe deficiency.

I have tried to take Calcium ascorbate in the meanwhile.. but as it seams my Calcium levels are still to low.. maybe one should take it regularly from time to time before really bad deficiency symptoms occur. But care is needed. Too high calcium levels can be very problematic as well!

Here is additional information on vitamin C and how you may successfully be able to work with it.

By the way I have found out from own experience that salt alone did not seem to be the answer to my problems. I used to take 12g of salt per day and my symptoms went worse. After including vitamin c, however, it became better again. I haven't tried vitamin c alone though. But if you believe some of the things that Klinghardt says, it may be an interesting choice for lyme, when you have enough calcium left in your body. :) I don't know if one should believe that all of it is gold what he says.. but definitely he comes up with interesting things.

I'm still supplementing Ca.. (not the ones by AccuCell) Also I wonder if I should be looking at K... At the moment it's a kind of hard to find time to see the doc. But as it seems I need to do more about it.... having. Deficiency can lead to hair loss... due to vessel contraction. I heard it's coming back though.

Feel free to comment... advices are always welcome! I'll be checking this thread again.

Sorry for the delay. Very interesting information and makes sense. There are some mineral wheels you can access online that show the relationships between minerals and minerals and vitamins. I have worked with tissue analysis for many years and have seen mineral patterns come back that are skewed. I prefer Trace Elements for several reasons but they will show the current levels of mineralization based on the hair sampling and they will show the relationships between the minerals.  Calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and phosphorous all have interlinking relationships as do the micro minerals such as zinc, iron, copper and managanese. Of course the other minerals play important roles as well. Electrolyte balance is paramount and this will occur with the magnesium, sodium and potassium balances (primarily) and calcium, phosphorous, chloride secondly.

I can tell you that people with infective diseases all have skewed mineral and other nutrient balances that need to be addressed. Testing is a great tool to use. Checking the status of your vitamin D would be a good idea and consideration of the other vital vitamins such as B vits and others.
