There are different studies that have been posted on this forum about the gut/brain axis. The gut is considered the second brain. The gut is comprised of a multitude of organisms that should be harmonious, when it is not harmonious then the other parts of the body and brain feel that. The articles discusses the idea that anxiety and depression can be attributed to the gut and conversely stress will effect the gut.
