I just caught a nasty virus (cold) that got into the chest so I pulled out my old trusty remedy, Vitamin C. I have learned to dose with quite high amounts (take every hour until bowels start rumbling or also known as bowel tolerance test) and sure enough the virus was broken

Here is a good video on Vitamin C. The doctor presenting the information reinforces the idea that toxins and infections produce high oxidative stress which compromises the body including the immune system. A quote he posted states this:

Vitamin C should always be vigorously suplemented in any infection and toxin exposure since the inducued vitamin c deficiency will automatically reduce the defenses of the host to deal with the condition (Holmes 1939)
