Being overweight cuts the risk of dementia, according to the largest and most precise investigation into the relationship.The researchers admit they were surprised by the findings, which run contrary to current health advice.The analysis of nearly two million British people, in the Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, showed underweight people had the highest risk.

Why is this relevant? Because blastocystis has an inverse relation to obesity - in other words, people who are overweight generally don't have blasto. I hypothesise blasto could be related to dementia. Certainly in my case ever since catching this bug I've thought it has impacted my cognitive ability (not to mention the excruciating headaches I used to get!!) Why is this relevant?
