Short Chain Fatty Acids (SCFA) are fatty acids that are manufactured by probiotics and fiber. They help provide energy to the intestinal wall so it can be regenerate. Butyrate is one of the SCFA that can be supplemented. Low levels of SCFAs are found in inflammatory bowel conditions. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3735932/

Leaky gut is caused by high oxidative stress. The oxidative stress is caused by the immune responses caused by pathogens. The lumen of the gut is subject to this oxidative stress in which holes are created in the gut allowing undigested proteins to enter the bloodstream thus causing more inflammation. When the lining of the gut is damaged, a major rebuild effort is required by the body.

This article covers the use of butyrate in inflammatory bowel conditions http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/268786.php

Butyrate has been a success for me. Within 2 days, it stopped all the leaky gut. I have tried numerous remedies for this including glutamine, marshmallow and other things. There are a couple of anti inflammatory herbs that have helped such as Red Tea (roobios), chamomile, peppermint and rosemary. Turmeric and ashwagandha are also potent anti inflammatory herbs.

What kind of butyric acid did you use Lineup,?

What you mean by your leaky gut was fixed? Mucus stopped? If Butyric acid helped you, then you probably have Shigellosis infection. New studies suggested green bananas against it as a cure in Bengladesh. Green banana contains resistant starch which turn into Butyric acid in the colon and kills Shigella.
